Safer roads are everyone’s responsibility. MakeItSafe brings people, schools, businesses and communities together to improve road-safety awareness and encourage safer choices across Barbados. Whether you can give time, share expertise or support an initiative, there is a way to contribute.
Choose an opportunity below or contact our team to discuss how you can help. Opportunities and event details depend on current programmes and availability.
Volunteer your time
Help with road-safety awareness, community outreach, educational activities and event support when opportunities are available. Tell us about your interests, availability and skills.
Partner as a business or fleet
Support safer journeys through workplace awareness, staff engagement, road-safety learning and community partnerships. Organisations can enquire about collaboration or sponsorship opportunities.
Support schools and families
Encourage children and young people to think about safe road use. Explore school-friendly activities and the My Safety Book Competition; check directly for current participation arrangements.
Take part in campaigns
Share credible safety messages, promote distraction-free travel and help raise awareness of risks faced by drivers, riders, pedestrians, cyclists and passengers.
Make a difference in everyday journeys
You do not need to join a formal programme to take action. Start by planning a safer journey, checking your vehicle, staying focused, respecting vulnerable road users and sharing trustworthy safety guidance with family or colleagues.
Community activities and events
Explore campaigns and community action and the events page. Please confirm dates, registration arrangements and availability with MakeItSafe before making plans. If no event is currently scheduled, you can still register your interest in future volunteering or partnerships.
